Paper Pumpkin is Stampin' Up's monthly subscription box. October’s "Ho Ho Ho” kit included supplies for 9 cards—3 each of 3 different designs--along with matching envelopes. Kits always include an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives.
The intended projects are always fun, but I love to find different ways to use the kits and show their versatility.
To customize your Christmas cards, simply replace the Santa image with another face--your kids, partner, friends, pets, or yourself!
The face can be cut out from any photo, but I like to make a photo collage so that I can get multiple images. I put 6 faces onto a 4" x 6" photo, cropping the individual images so that the face took up about half the space on each of the 2" x 2" squares. I used the Project Life app to create my collage, but there are many other apps and websites available.
I stamped the Santa image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink--it's not even necessary to have the whole image, just the hat! Then, I colored the hat with Cherry Cobbler Blends markers. Next, I added Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on the brim and pompom for texture. You could also use a white watercolor pencil or gel pen for highlights. Then I just fussy the hat out and added it onto the face.
I used them on the card design in place of Santa. Done!
November 10th, is the last day to sign up for next month’s kit, called From the North Pole. This kit coordinates with the October kit and will make a dozen 2" x 3" tags, 4 each of 3 designs. We'll get a Cherry Cobbler mini ink cube and some Mint Macaron glitter paper! If you‘re in the U.S. and would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me, I’ll send you a handmade thank you card, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I post new ideas!
