Hi! I’m Vy with Crafting Daily Dose. Welcome to this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, featuring alternatives for the October 2022 Ho Ho Ho kit.
This festive kit included supplies for 9 cards—3 each of 3 different designs--along with matching envelopes. Kits always come with an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives.
As of today, the refills are available to subscribers.
This first project is an easel card made using only supplies from the kit, and it comes together quickly. It only requires one extra score line on the included card base and some rearranging of the pieces. There's some extra stamping, which is always fun! I have a tutorial if you'd like to make one:
Measurements:
-kit cardbase
score at 2-1/8" along the long side
My second set of cards uses one of the card panels as a stencil. I used it multiple times to make several different backgrounds--either with the included Early Espresso ink, Whisper White ink, or even embossing paste. I made 2 of each but could have done more. If you only use the stencil for ink, you can keep going for a long time and still use the other side as a panel on a different card. If you choose to use the embossing paste, you can definitely get 2, or maybe 3 uses working quickly, but note that it'd be difficult to still use reuse that piece. That's why I saved the embossing paste for last after I had already gotten a lot of other backgrounds made. I love the look and texture, so those are my favorites!
I placed the stenciled panels on a Cherry Cobbler cardbase and layered on pieces from the kit. If you've run out of die cuts, you can stamp and color additional Santas and sentiments and fussy cut them out. For the inside, I stamped the sentiments using Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce inks.
Measurements:
-Cherry Cobbler cardstock
5-1/2” (W) x 8-1/2” (H), scored at 4-1/4” along the long side
-Crumb Cake cardstock

November 10th is the last day to sign up for next month’s kit, called From the North Pole. This kit coordinates with the October kit and will make a dozen 2" x 3" tags, 4 each of 3 designs. We'll get a Cherry Cobbler mini ink cube and some Mint Macaron glitter paper! If you‘re in the U.S. and would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me, I’ll send you a handmade thank you card, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I post new ideas!
