Salutations, gentle crafter! It is I, Lady Vystledown of Crafting Daily Dose. Gather 'round for this month’s enchanting A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, where we unveil delightful alternatives for the December 2024 Notes From the Heart kit.
This splendid kit boasts provisions for nine cards, divided into three tantalizing designs—three of each, mind you. And what’s this? An exclusive stamp set, a delightful mini ink cube, charming embellishments, and all the adhesive you could desire? Simply divine! Fear not, for as of today, refills for this darling kit still grace the shelves!
May this humble card I’ve created for you bring a twinkle to your eye and a smile to your lips. For what is Paper Pumpkin without a dash of charm?
Should you find yourself yearning to embark on a similar adventure, take heed! First, fold your card as per the dimensions I shall divulge. Adorn the façade with an enchanting stamped design. For the pièce de résistance, cap it off with a seal, employing the exquisite art of heat embossing, for nothing declares your intentions quite like a well-placed embellishment!
But wait, my dear readers, for upon opening this missive, one is treated to the delightful spectacle of a surprise pop-up flower, a most unexpected bloom to tickle the senses. What a delightful twist! This pop-up was born from the scandalous slicing of an envelope, a most crafty endeavor indeed.
One fervently wishes you shall craft your own as well, dear heart!
Yours in affection,
Lady Vystledown
Measurements:
- Kit cardbase
5-1/2” (W) x 8-1/2” (H), scored at 2-1/8” and 6-1/4” along the long side
- Kit envelope
4-1/2" (W) x 4" (H), scored at 1”, 2”, and 3” along the short side
The pop-up support for the die cut flower is made by cutting a piece of the envelope and folding it to make a box shape. The 1st and last panels are adhered to the card at the bottom score line.
The image on the card front is called Leaf Collection, stamped in Basic Beige, and the sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow.
The faux wax seal was created by repeatedly pressing a round sentiment label from the kit into Versamark ink and then heat embossing with gold powder. Use tweezers to hold the paper to avoid burning your fingers. There are 2 layers of heat embossing on the back and 4 on the front. After the last layer of embossing powder is melted on the front, immediately lay the label down on a silicone craft sheet, acrylic block, or glass mat (so that the underside won’t stick), and very firmly press the desired stamp onto the top surface. Hold it in place as the embossing powder cools. This will leave a debossed image, similar to the way a wax seal is stamped. If you are unhappy with the result, add a little more powder and remelt everything, then try again. The finished seal is adhered to the top flap of the card with Tear ‘n Tape. A mini glue dot leftover from a past Paper Pumpkin gives just enough stickiness to temporarily hold the bottom part of the seal to the bottom flap of the card.
My sincerest gratitude for gracing us with your presence! Do, dear reader, ensure you saunter along the blog hop to indulge in the clever creations from our illustrious ensemble!
