Warm Wishes: A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop

Hi! I’m Vy with Crafting Daily Dose. Welcome to this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, featuring alternatives for the November 2023 Warm Wishes kit.

This kit included supplies for 8 treat packages, 4 each of 2 designs. Kits always come with an exclusive stamp set, a mini ink cube, embellishments, and adhesives. As of today, refills are still available for this kit, as well as the coordinating kit from October.

Today's project is a pop-up alternative that is simple to make!

To start, I cut apart the treat packages so that there is a little tab under each of the house pieces. The tab for the back (with the extra roof piece) should be 1/2" high, and the one for the front (with the door) should be just slightly shorter, at 3/8" high.

Next, I attached the house pieces to the inside of the card, next to--but not covering--the center crease. I put a little bit of glue on the extra roof piece and then carefully folded it over to meet with the house front, closing the card as I did so, making sure that everything inside closed down flat. Using glue here allows for a little bit of wiggle room before it sets up, so that the pieces have a chance to align themselves.

The cardbase is from the October kit because I love how they coordinate together, but the pop-up can be added inside any card. To finish, I added the wreath embellishments and sentiments.

Thank you so much for visiting! Don’t forget to follow the hop to see other creative projects from our team!

December 10th is the last day to sign up for this month’s kit, called All the Best. It makes 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs, and there will be an acetate box to store them--perfect to keep for your stash or to give as a gift. If you‘re in the U.S. and would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me, I’ll send you a handmade thank you card, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I post new ideas!
