You're Beautiful, Dah-ling

There are only a few more days till the Sale-a-bration promotion ends on September 30th, so hurry if you want to get the Delicate Dahlias stamp for free!

As much as I love designing, sometimes it’s nice to have a brain break and follow someone else’s instructions. This vertical easel card is based on Lou Kitzelman’s design, with some modifications. I wanted to have a flower on both the outside and inside of the front panel, but because the image is not symmetric, I knew some of the areas around the edges would show when two flowers were placed back to back. To solve that problem, I did mirror stamping so that the flower image is on both sides of each piece.

That way, the edges of the background flower that show just make the main flower on that side look more full. For added dimension, I used the paper tole technique of 3D decoupage on the front flower.

The Stamparatus was my friend for this project! It would have been extremely difficult to get good mirror stamping without one. Plus, the Stamparatus made stamping multiple layered images quicker and easier.
